Cosmic Rosary
October 1, 2022

Once again, Malate Parish led by Fr. Leo Distor, and volunteers from the different ministries, organizations, and areas gathered in the church last October 1 at 7:00PM for the Cosmic Rosary. The annual event, spearheaded by the Care for the Earth Ministry, was part of the month-long celebration of the creation month which culminates with the Eucharistic celebration and the blessing of animals on the Sunday near the feast of St. Francis of Assisi.

As in previous years, each bead of the rosary is represented by a parish volunteer who leads in the recitation of the prayers of the Holy Rosary. Each Joyful mystery begins with a reflection, followed by the prayers, and concludes with a Marian hymn led by the parish choir.

It was indeed a night filled with prayerful reflections on the beauty of God’s creation and a call for renewed commitment to be true stewards of our Common Home. The beautiful hymns sang by the parish choir made the activity more solemn and memorable.

During his closing message, Fr. Leo Distor thanked everyone who participated and acknowledged the Care for the Earth Ministry for their continued commitment and tireless efforts in promoting care for the environment and of all of God’s creation. The evening ended with a group photo with everyone happily showing off their plants, token by the parish to all participants.
